Unknown Coolant leak

hello all. just registered here looking for some help. I have a 90' 4runner SR5 V6 that i picked up for $650. Had some oil leakage (power steering) and coolant leakage (water pump) when i bought it, hence the cheap price. I knew coming into it it was def leaking from the water pump. I replaced the water pump, and timing belt while i was in there. I started her back up and saw the radiator taking a piss so i changed that. Thinking that that was all, i find another leak! It sounds as if it is coming from under the intake manifold. is there any hoses/seals/gaskets under the intake manifold that may need to be changed? the coolant leaks from the left side of the engine (standing in font facing the vehicle). Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated. thanks for reading.

There are two possibilities that are part of the manifold itself.
1 Where the coolant return exits the manifold. Its towards the front top of manifold. It all one piece that passes through the timing belt cover and is part of the idler pully.

2 On the rear top of manifold there is also the coolant temp sending unit, with an array of hoses and sensors. Its held onto the manifold by two bolts. The gasket between it and the manifold may need to be replaced

Under the manifold the only thing I recall is there was a anti-knock sensor. Im not sure if under it is coolant. I only had to replace mine cause I broke off part of it (160 bucks so be careful). Never actually looked to see if coolant was under it.

There are also quite a few hoses that attach to the plenum (sp? aka air intake chamber) chamber. Sure its not coming from there....as opposed to the manifold which is beneath the plenum chamber.

Finally it might be a head gasket. Those things are known to be faulty. In fact your 4runner might be eligible for replacement from a recall they had on those things. I think there is a website you can enter your VIN to see if yours has been replaced or not. If not take it in and get it replaced.

so the idler pulley itself gas a gasket that may have a coolant leak?

also, can you point me in the right direction about check my Vin for the head gasket recall? and is there a certain date that it is valid for the repair to be done by toyota?

i also found a recall that has something to do with the power steering. does anyone know what that is? my power steering is leaking.

Not the pully itself but the coolant return runs through the pully's hub. IIRC it exits a port on the front of the manifold. runs through the pully and then connects to hose that returns to radiator.

Never heard of Power steering recall other than a recall for some relay rod thing.

ic. i will take off the timing belt covers then i will run a pressure tester on the system again to see if i can spot the leak. ill keep you posted. thanks for the help so far!
