Up Date: On my tread wright MTR'S

First off ... love all the brainwashed puss-cakes in this thread crying about safety with NO evidence to support it.

I am running 285/70/17 Guard Dog's. They were 700 shipped. Roughly 1/2 the price of brand new Nitto MT's. Balancing was a breeze, they do decent off road, and are relatively quiet on road. Stable as hell, and are wearing very even after about 3-4k miles.

Fun story, I ordered my first set, and flipped them the same day on Craigslist for 950, netting me a easy 250. I then applied that money again to my 2nd (current set) and effectively got brand new 33" Mud Terrains for $450.

Having fun financing the big name brand's advertising budgets. I'll enjoy my "free" $700, and a safe n' sound ride

I see you got the pinned tires. When I got my Guard Dogs (5 of them) two were pinned and 3 were not. Turns out for whatever reason (clearance?) the pinned tires are about 1/2" shorter. I called them and they picked up the two pinned tires and sent me regular ones. All 5 the same size now.

Oh and I love my TW's too!!

I put my Treadwrights on in May 2010 with about 95K miles on my rig. I now have about 122K and ~50% tread left. I've only rotated about 4 times and had a bad alignment for 1/3 of the time I've had them so they are cupping and definitely have a loud drone when driving. However, I'm going to sell these and get a new set this summer. I'm satisfied with them and would recommend to anyone.

TWs are fine for budget minded folks but the age of the casing would concern me since some of the casings seem to already be 4-5 years old when they are retreaded. Probably not a big deal if you wear them out in a few years but I only put about 4000 miles a year on my truck and expect to replace my Duratracs due to age (7-8 years) instead of miles. I'm fine buying new tires once a decade for now.
