Nice! Crossed 220k coming back from snowboarding a couple weeks ago.
I'm pretty sure Brad has either 240k or 260k on his stock engine and tranny...inside this beast

Mine is sitting at like 159,640....up until about 5 years ago, I was putting like 15-20k a year on it, now it only gets about 5k a year since I work from home....I do get anxious thinking about how high the miles will go. I have a 6 year old daughter and I joke about us all hoping in the 4runner when she's 16 to go look for a car for her.....as fast as time is flying, that will probably be true....by the way, bought my sr5 new in 97, so all the miles are mine....

As long as you perform proper maintainance and no idiots smash into it, it'l easily last that long, and longer!

My 1998 4x4 SR5 has just over 201,100 miles on it. I also bought it new. My goal is to get 350,000 miles out of it. We’ll see if it will last that long. It is garage kept which really helps with vehicle longevity. I washed it really good last summer, used tar and bug cleaner to remove every spot and then waxed it. I was amazed at how new it looked.
Yesterday I rebuilt the clutch master cylinder. Before that the only thing that had to be replaced was the retractable antenna about 8 or 9 years ago. I damaged it driving through a branch full of wet leaves in the rain on an overgrown dirt road. I don’t know if you can really count that. It didn’t fail on its own.
I have a 3 CD changer that doesn’t load a CD every now and then. I don’t know if that is the CD cartridge or the player. One of the wheel bearings groans a little sometimes until the 4Runner warms up. The only other known problem not related to an accident is the fuel level warning light comes on when it shouldn’t. I thought I had that fixed but apparently not.
I believe that I have already gotten my money’s worth with it.

240,000 miles on the original engine, clutch, drivetrain, etc...it was owned by my dad before me and he drove it pretty easy but he didn't do much in the way of maintenance so i'm starting to pick up the slack from that
Good to know! My 2000 just turned 98K this morning.

i have a 115k on mine, a buddy of mine has 325k on his 96 4x4

125K on my '99--almost all driven by me. I let the dealer do the maintenance up to 30K and a trans shop swapped the clutch after two teens learned to drive, I have done all the rest. Basically just maintenance and wear items. The TB was fun, however. Only thing that broke that shouldn't have is the stinkin' clock.

I'm at 155k miles and it's only using a half quart of oil between my 8000 mile oil changes and is just as quick in the 1/4 mile as my mom's '99 Limited with 92k on the odo and I have bigger tires.
I'm expecting to go well past 200k with minimal issues. I average about 9000 miles a year but relocating to my job near my house I'll shave at least 4000 miles off of that. That'll save me $600 a year and reduce my commute to about a minute.(it's 12-14 minutes now)
If I can reduce my mileage to 5k a year then it will be a while before I even hit the 200k mile mark so I'm feeling good seeing alot of 3rd gen far past 200k.

97 SR5 just ticked 196,000 still going strong!
Well I'm proud to announce I just joined the 4runner family tonight and bought a 97 SR5 4x4 with 203,000 and I drove it home a little over 600 miles through the appalachian moutains, damn thing ran like it was brand new.
There was a little vibration I was thinking it was from the BFG a/t KO's that's on there. or maybe the tires needed to balanced then again it does have 203,000 on it I cant expect to drive like a lexus!
This is a second car so im hoping to have it for a very long time!
