OK - I am all done.

I did the engine filter from Napa Auto Parts for $17 -- Looks exactly like the factory original...

Decided to do the Dealer oil change and then asked them to lube and retorque the propeller shaft. How much? We will do that for free.... Cool.

Rotate tires... $10

Oil change... with inspections (plus free Propeller work) $39.00

The laugh of the day was when they marked the engine air filter as "May need attention". I just replaced it the week before!

I still need to do the cabin air filter, but that will be soon and < $30. So the total cost will be around $100.

They also said "Needs alignment"!. The car drives perfectly straight, smooth and there is no funny wear. Go figure.

Sure I could have done all of this for less myself, but I got all of the above plus a free vacuum and wash.

WAY better that the starting quote of $700 for all of this crap the mfg does not specify.

This is pretty amazing when you consider the parts cost in the above price is probably over $70. Yeah - I think I'd pay someone $30 to change the oil, rotate the tires, wash & vacum and lube & retorque the propeller shaft!

:bigok:

Just dropped my '05 V8 to a local shop (one that I trust) for my 30K service about 30 minutes ago.

Looks like it is going to run me $300 for the service. I am doing all of the recommended (the normal things listed at the top of the service book) ... but I am also having them freshen up the trans fluid and replace the rear diff oil. I didn't think $300 sounded too high to have someone doing it for me.
