Update Thread Last Post on Poll Vote

Should voting in a poll thread update the last post time for the thread?

  • Yes - keep it the way it is. I like seeing poll threads move up with every vote.

    Votes: 7 70.0%
  • No - a mere vote should not be treated as a new post.

    Votes: 3 30.0%

  • Total voters
    10

Hey guys, I currently have the setting below set to "yes", therefore everytime someone votes in a poll it bumps that thread up to the top and it will show up in "today's active thread" type searches. Personally, it's getting kind of annoying IMO and I'm getting ready to switch it to "no". But I figured before I do so I should, you guessed it, run a poll :D So vote your preference.

Update Thread Last Post on Poll Vote

If you set this option to 'Yes' the thread's last post time will be updated when a vote is placed, thereby returning it to the top of its parent forum listing.

Note that this option can cause confusion. The last post time of a thread will be changed with no visible post.

Well with a huge turnout of 4 votes :D the forum has spoken by a margin of 3 to 1 in favor of setting it to "no". Just made the switch so hopefully the new search feature will no longer be cluttered up with ancient polls.

I was the one... Mainly because there always has to be one:D

In a way this speaks to what I was saying in the Mod Hangout; people go to one or two sections and don't cruise the whole thing much. I'll bet you one T4R.org sticker that if we threw this into Gen Discussions for a day or two the total vote count would go to 8+ :lmao:
