updated pictures! need opinions

I just finished painting my grill, bumper, and licence tag. let me know what you think. also, i need opinions on painting the grill emblem black or not. i've already painted the back emblems and wondering how it will look. does anyone have pictures of the toyota emblem painted? I also just put the clear signals in too.

Looks good man. As for the grill, I painted my entire thing silver to match the body color and then went with a black emblem. CHeck my pics if you're intereste
 
RunningAround- i simply cleaned it really good, taped everything off and used flat black and finished w/ clear coat. thanks!

bootown- I know i will atleast paint the background behind the emblem. i just can't decide wether to paint the actual emblem or not. i'll take pictures in the morning and post them for a better view.

KellyJ- your grill looks sick! if i had all silver i would definately go for something like that. since i just painted the bumper and everything else black to match i want to keep it black too. thanks

2000runr- no, i have a revtek lift and trim was needed so the tires would clear and they still rub on occasion.
 
Painting the emblem would probably look good. Everything else that you have done does.

You need to make up your mind, USC or the Citadel. :p

how is it holding up? im hating the chrome, but im concerned aout the plastic holding the paint.
 
Clemsonfan15 - i think i am going to paint it. still thinking about it. I'm a USC fan at heart and was born into it haha, even though what i want to major in college requires me to go to Clemson. My brother goes to the Citadel so that's why i have that.

jinxed13- I would love for it to be painted all silver like a limited and ditch the chrome too, but i like how it's turned out. i'm worried about the paint sticking too but it's held up very good on everything i've painted. everything black from the racks, bumper, licence plate, and the plastic on the rear bumper have all held up great so far. hopefully it will continue to do so.

No problem man. How hard was it to remove the rear license plate surround? I need to paint mine black and then I'm all silver and black.
 
BARunners, looks great. So you used flat black SPRAY paint out of the can? And then clear coated over that?
 
piperoo- yup that's all. I put about 3 or so coats of each. I also used flat clear and not the glosssy.

When taping, make sure to cover the licence plate lights. I forgot. haha but luckily i figured out my mistake right after i did it so it wiped off.

It's holding up pretty well. I sanded it with 600 grit sandpaper to give the paint something to stick to and just used Duplicolor Import Truck/SUV silver. I recently did another coat and it's looking as good as new. Worth a shot IMO. If you need any info on the process just send me a PM
 
JAC - I painted them in early spring and they are starting to chip in one or two places. On a day I don't have anything to do I'll redo them. Thanks!
 
Nice job bro!

I really like the blacked out emblems on the tailgate. But, IMO the front emblem would look better like how it is. Like someone mentioned earlier, I think that there would be a little too much black there if it were painted. Just my 2 cents.
