upgrades and fixed things on my yota

so i figured some of you might be interested ... here's what i started with ...

and here's what i've got, now, with parts i got off of a junker ... by no means new and glamourous, but better than what i started with ...

my next step is to get the factory sticker stripe off, and paint it the same black sparkle i painted the grill and bumper skirt with ...

then comes being able to afford some bigger mechanical endeavors ...

for sure!!! if you don't mind me asking, where did you get your grille guard from??? i'm lookin' around for something and open to pretty much anything ...

so, i got the sticker stripe off and got it repainted and it looks amazing ... it's pretty dang sweet ... so now i've gotta put in new valve cover gaskets and hope that fixes my leak, 'cuz i'm pretty dang sure that's where it's coming from now ... and while i'm at it, i'll adjust my valves too ... but i'll get pics of my new stripe up soon after i get my new harddrive figured out on my laptop ...

Front grille guard? Are you talkin about the bullbar? It came with the car when I bought it. It's an ARB bullbar. They are about AU$1000 over here in Australia. Dunno how much they are over in the states. But you should be able to find a few 2nd hand ones going every so often. Even the ones that look a bit crappy (a bit rusted etc) will clean up really well if you get rid of the rust, surface prep it and then apply a spray coat of matt black paint.

got the stripe off and got it re-painted and it looks pretty good ... matches the grill and air dam now ... so it's cool ...

next plan of attack - afford a new alternator and valve cover gaskets ...

not really planning on it ... to be honest, i've got a suburban for all the offroading and crap i want, as well as a jeep ... this is more or less going to be my DD, and i'd kinda like to keep it from rusting as much as possible, and keeping the running boards on will do that for me ...

Cool truck! It looks almost like mine, I guess about the same year. I just bought mine about a month ago. I live in Uzbekistan, Central Asia.
Two weeks after I bought it, I noticed I had to change one of the head gaskets.. bummer. So, it's at a garage now, sitting, waiting for parts...
