I want to upgrade just the sub in the JBL 10 speaker set up.

I bolieve the factory sub is a 10" so i have a JL W3 for that original location. I want to put in a high low converter and install an amp jusr for that speaker.

Has anyone atempted or do i need to do a write up? Also... I have the wiring diagrams and its easy to do, jusr want to know if anyone did it yet..

I don't recall anyone doing it. I haven't opened that part of the trunk, but would assume that it isn't a very deep to install into. Hopefully your planned sub fits.

The stock mouting depth was discussed here before... I don't remember exactly what was said. I think there was only like 4.5-5 inches of room available.

i would be careeful with that because the JL subs have a certain demensions that the box needs to be or it will sound terrible.
i dont think you have enough room to out an aftermarket sub in there for that reason.

For some reson I am have trouble getting the trunk panel where the sub is located. Dose just the cover where th espare compartment come off, or the whole panel from the back door to the trunk door?
