Well I think I'm going to go do a little haggling with the dealership for the Blizzard Pearl CPO Urban Runner, if the numbers are right that will be my new rig.

Yeah, good luck. I'm a huge fan of the Blizzard Pearl. They're pretty rare on 4th Gens.

I totally love mine, except for them not being offered in a V8. Get the Pearl one and change the head unit. I put a Pioneer AVIC Z120BT in and now the sound is great. The speakers in these acctually have some punch that I didn't know they had with the DumDum.
Yes the seats aren't the greatest, but they are comfortable and easy to clean. The solid black tube steps and roof rack look great too. I like the simulated wood grain trim, as it is different from the other T4R's.
If you do get the UR and change the HU, make sure to keep and re-use the trim ring. It make double DIN HU's look like they were made for the truck compared to other fit-kits.

How'd you do your wiring on the avic? We don't have a harness available do we? I've read you have to cut the harness on the truck side and connect the wires to the new harness that plugs into the new unit. That correct?

Well after a couple of days of haggling with different dealerships I made the trek up to Lawton, Ok today and bought the black urban runner! Now it's time to start the mods!

Congrats on the purchase. Looks good.
Just ordered Pioneer AVH-P4400BH from Amazon this morning. Took the stock radio out to look at it yesterday and it looks like I will have to cut the Eclipse harness (on the truck side) and rewire. Sounds like some frustration in the future for me, but I'm willing to take on the challenge.
I also wish it had an AC outlet. I need to look into how to install one later.

There's an install thread for an avic z120 or 130 somewhere I think. Youll also need a Pac swi to keep the steering wheel controls. If I can find the thread I'll link it. I'm sure you'll have to cut the vehicle side harness since its a limited model I doubt they have a harness. Also for the ac plug look in the center console next to the aux input. That's where it should go. If you have a blank the wiring may be there..

Thanks I'll search the forum a bit for the install. I got the PAC SWI already. Got it when I put in a Kenwood in my Tacoma and it works great. Also got a cheap backup camera.

Are you sure you need to cut it? There should be a wiring harness available.

NOOOOO!!!! Don't cut the truck harness. Cut the TomTom harness and splice that to the HU. Then you can just plug it into the factory harness.
There is a wireing diagram that came with the UR's labeled "Trim Ring". On the second page of the file is the wireing part.

Just want to say thanks for all the info.
Bought a UR a couple months ago for the wife, and now she wants a new HU because she cant stand CD's and wants to use her phone.
I'm sure I might thread Hi-Jack a little in the future.
Also nice buy, i'm not really a SUV guy but certainly give the 4Runner credit!
