Urban Runner Aux Iput in Center Console

First post, first 4R!!

I just bought a 2008 Urban Runner 4x2. I love the truck but it has the horrible TomTom which has already broke. The dealer said that there is a TSB regarding the SD card. We'll see how that goes (I know that's nothing new!)

My question is for anyone with the Urban Runner. My Aux input in the center console doesn't seem to work. I've tried two different cords and even tried it at the dealer's with one of their cords.

Does the stupid TomTom system some how cancel out the Aux input?

I'm letting the dealer work the issue for a little bit, as I'm already sold on replacing the HU.

Please let me know if anyone else has seen the same thing.

I have the Urban Runner with the TomTom system. (Eclipse radio with TomTom) There is a setting on the radio to switch between USB and AUX inputs. It might be IPOD and AUX, but the details are in the Eclipse manual.
 
Good to know...

Should I tell the dealer about that when I go in to pick up my new SD Card? I'd rather they not tear into the dash chasing a wire if it's just a setting on the busted TomTom.

Also, has your TomTom been working okay?
 
I've had my UR since Oct 10th and Yes, we've all had the same problem. I'm not too happy with the tomtom...but it isn't too bad. The sd card update will fix things. Toyota should have done more r&d before adding the tomtom but o well. I love the car though. GL to you. If the dealer will replace the hu...I'd do it.
 
AUX settings

If you have not already figured it out, here is a pdf that explains how to get the AUX input to work.

Make sure that the SD card that is ordered for you is the V.4200 or later and you will be just fine. And don't update your Tomtom through Tomtom Home. It will corupt your software application and you will just have go back to the dealer for the same issue. I'm glad to see they finally issued a TSB for this issue.

Btw, welcome to the forum. Nice to see another 4x2 UR out there!
 
My TomTom sucks. Any time I use the navigation it cuts off & reboots itself, which is great when I'm driving down the road & have know idea where I'm going. I use my phones gps at the same time now. Will the TSB fix this?
