Does anyone on here know how int he heck to make the ipod work in the urban runner? I hooked one of the usb cables to it but the radio would not detect it? Do you have to buy a special cord? I tried to use the cord that came withthe ipod but it didnt work. :bash:

that pdf file was great thanks. the aux is now on for my ride. im using that for now for my ipod. sure its ghetto and you still use ipod to control the songs and it does not display on unit. but it was a $5 cable so that will work for now until something else comes out.

Just picked up my new UR last night. Have to say that we're definitely on our own as far as dealership help on the radio. What 5$ cable are you using to hook up the Ipod. Will probably upgrade later to the full meal deal ipod hookup later though. I also read that using a high volume memory stick with .wav or mp3 music files works well with the Tomtom but don't want to have to go through the trouble since I have everything on a 30 gig ipod. Also, what has been the best option for XM. I have a subscription to XM and a installed portable in my pickup that I use now and will transfer that subscription to my UR. Thanks.

I have a UR, too. It is really up to us to figure out that head unit... I wanna buy XM too, but I want it integrated thru the head unit. Stealership wants $449. Can buy it online for $260. I still gotta figure the silly ipod thing too. I haven't because it is my wifes car...

Just picked up the cord to hook up the Ipod into the AUX input hidden in the console storage compartment(hidden under the coin storage). I may be missing where it was mentioned this input in the any of the manuals, but just got lucky. Anyway I believe this method is what was mentioned in an earlier post as being the poor boy method as I've got about $10 invested. It is the cord that plugs into the headphone output on the Ipod and has the identical plug on the opposite end and plugs into the AUX input that allows Ipods to be played with stereos. You have to still play your selections with the Ipod controls though. So far, the only thing I've been impressed with is the Bluetooth function and it's pairing with my Iphone. The rest seems to have been thrown together by Toyota and Tomtom at midnight the day before the car went into production. I got the same response on the XM from Toyota. For $500 they could get me up and running with XM. Will not give up on this and keep shopping around. On a positive note the rest of my experience with my new UR has been great and the first tank of gas yielded 20.5 mpg combined driving.
