urban runner pleather

I'm not sure if this is a known problem but our 08 urban runner driver seat pleather is ripped already with little holes. The SUV have about 20000 miles since we got it a year and a half ago.

I guess I have to go through the stealership to get this straighten out. But Toyota quality are really slipping.

Owned mine for 2 years 28k miles. I get in and out of the car plenty and so does my crazy dog. My seats are as good as new.

No offense, but instead of blaming it on Toyota right away, please keep an open mind and also look at your driving and maintenance habits as well. The seats might not be the best quality, but they are wear&tear items. Taking care of them and maintaining them will extend their life.

No issues with mine, 34000 miles. In fact, the "pleather" seems to hold up better than leather I've had in other cars.

I have to agree my leather is 5 yrs old and looks as good as showroom quality, of course I treat and clean it. My leahter was dealer put on Southern Region (TX) it has liqui cell? Not sure if that is on all or not. I looked the origional window sticker and it is on there as an option. Sorry to hijack I will shut up now.

I have a 2008 T4R w 47000 mi. No damage to seats. Every now and then I detail my rig myself wit leather conditioner, we're an avid outdoors family so my beautiful 4Runner gets dirty as hell.

Usually when there are small holes its from things hanging out of pockets, like keychains and stuff.

I'm inspecting the rip and they kinda look like puncture rip. I don't know what my wife did since I always get the "problems". I guess the quality is not as bad as I thought since most of you have no issue with the seat. I hope the dealership will fix it under warranty.

...Update... I now have a rip in my driver's side pleather. 3yr, 60,000 miles at this point. Guess I'll buy some super glue and save for some leather seat covers... :/

No rips on mine. Seats still look great.

They've been known to tear slightly at the stitching on the lower seat bolster. Saw it more times than not on used urban runners when looking for mine. Toyota actually replaced mine AFTER I bought it used with 25k on it. (It was separating when I bought it) Of course I sent my beautiful girlfriend to the dealership with it so she could sweet talk the service writer. It was a $600+ repair. The dealerships will sub it out to a local upholstery shop. If you're gonna pay out of pocket I'd call your dealer and see if they'll tell you who does their upholstery and call them directly to see if they can repair it before ordering the lower seat cover. The part number for the cover is below. Another thing that helps is to NOT slide in and out of the seat.
