Urban Runner Radio Trim Ring Found!

the cable it's self is long enough to reach there but it looks like the antenna from the factory fits into there when using a HD module? IS this correct? I still have yet to receive my wiring harness so I'm not sure if it lengthens the antenna cords at all.

you know what, you're right. The xm module is a bit different.

But...

I installed the HD module on my wife's avn726e and it came with a cable that lets you extend the antenna cable so that you can attach it to the hd module.

I think you'll be alright. :bigok:


Edit: Just looked up the unit. Yup, comes with an extension.

Thanks for posting that pic. I should check again, but I don;t think I got the antenna extension part with the HD module. Anyhow after talking to a friend who installs for a living I might sell my HD module and just get Sirius. He says there's a lot of bs with the signal coming in and out and it annoys most of their customers to the point where they ask for it to be uninstalled. So perhaps I am better off selling it.;

Awww man that sucks. I guess it mostly depends on where you live. We live in the Los Angeles area, so we get a good amount of extra stations. Check out HDradio.com to see whats available in your area.

Just bought one for my new Eclipse nav unit. Super expensive but looks awesome! Had it in 5 days after order. Looks factory unlike the other cheap dash kits.

I wonder if that kit could work for a limited? I have the JBL synthesis kit that came with the runner.
When the guys installed my eclipse unit they said there was no way they could push the headunit back any further..

After trying every kit out there I finally ordered this trim ring. Can't believe they charge $100 for a .40 cent piece of plastic.....but it was worth it, looks great.

alot of the newer HU's have a tilt feature for the screen. You adjust what angle you want it and it remembers. Only thing with my Z120 is it only tilts to desired angle when the HU's is on.

I looked up the radio dimensions you all have and confirmed it would work with the Kenwood DNX9960-
I had the system installed in my Sister-In-Laws 4Runner back in January and was so disappointed when we got it back from the installer.

looks like a non jbl equiped 4runner, i think the jbl ones are different.

That's right, I've got a Kenwood unit now. The factory JBL Nav unit was wider and filled up the space where the trim ring is now.
