Double din head unit install with Urban Runner trim ring

Today, my new pioneer double din head unit arrived so I started to take out my current head unit. I am not the original owner of the 4runner and the previous owner had single din Alpine unit installed.
I also bought urban runner trim ring to go with it, and thought I wouldn't need any more dash kits, but I might be wrong.
I started out with this:

Thankfully all the factory harness is intact, so that's a relief!

But, found out there is no place to bolt down the new head unit without any dash kit. The urban runner trim ring is just a cover that does not provide any support to the head unit.
So I am thinking I still need to purchase a dash kit?
If so which one works with urban runner trim ring? (Please provide part numbers) Is the dash kit consists of two parts (bracket and trim cover), so I can just replace trim cover with urban runner one? Anyone experienced with urban runner trim ring, please chime in.

FYI, my runner is not equipped with JBL.

Please help me fill in the hole!

You need to buy the factory radio brackets, that will hold the radio in stock location, then the urban trim ring is mounted on the bezel.
 
The ring is the last thing that you install. Get the radio in and then just snap it in place. It is only cosmetic. It has no functional purpose.

Yeah, that's the thing.
The single din kit didn't have any metal bracket on it.
I looked carefully if there was anything that I can use for my install but no.
So, can anybody give me a part number for the factory bracket?
Or can I just go with Metra or Sosche kits?

Oh well. This install is not going as I planned.
So I tried Scosche kit (TA2079B), because it looked like it had mounting bracket with it. It is for JBL equipped 4Runner, but I thought if I just want to use the mounting bracket, it would fit. But it doesn't. Is the factory mounting bracket itself different for JBL and standard audio?
This is what I tried.

I also stopped by at Bestbuy if they had anything useful. They had Metra kit for SR5, it was two plastic pieces that attaches to the head unit, but didn't have any mounting tabs.

So I might as well just buy the factory bracket.
If someone has one sitting around please let me know.
Or I will order online. Here is what I found out so far.

I think one is for the left, one is for the right, one set is for standard audio, and the other set is premium audio (JBL?).
So should I get one 8621135040 and one 8621235040 ?
Can someone please clarify?

just did a car last week. it was a theft insurance job.

metra doesnt make a double din kit, scosche, or american international aka best kits. you need the oem brackets that riceand pho listed. cost was around $20 from dealer. what i do need is that urban runner part number. i hate how this sits in my car

There are two 86211 and 86212 on the list.
I will probably try 86211-35040 and 86212-35040 first. I will see if local dealer carries any in stock. Hopefully they do, so my install doesn't get delayed anymore.

The urban runner trim ring part number is PZ365-35904.

Wow, that's much better price than my dealer quoted me for.
My dealer wants $19.xx per piece on that radio bracket.
And those are exactly the same part number that I ordered.
 
Yeah, if you know you're going to need the parts in advance I would order them from one of the online dealers. My favorite is Toyota of Dallas because I can go pick them up usually the next day.

If you need parts right away and your local dealer has them in stock then it's a different story. But if your dealer doesn't stock them I think it's pointless to wait a few days for them to get them in.

Yeah, I checked online, but if I were to order just the brackets, and pay shipping on them, it came out to be about the same so I just let the dealer order it.
 
Just in case anybody is curious, I will update with finished installation.

This was the required bracket.



Bracket installed on Pioneer head unit, AVIC-X950BH.

I enjoy the back-up camera more than I thought I would. And the guide lines were all adjustable so I calibrated them using tape measure and some masking tape.

Navigation system gets the job done but it wouldn't say the street name except for the major highways. And if it had a feature to show the speed limit on the screen like garmin does, it would be better. Route cacluation wise, I like pioneer unit better than garmin sometimes.

Parking brake overwrite was pretty easy and also used Axxess ASWC-1 to get back steering wheel control function. The steering wheel control is especially useful because this particular pioneer unit doesn't have volume knob.

Now the Alpine head unit that previous owner installed is on sale.
