URD 7th injector kit questions

From reading on multiple forums, it seems that a good majority of supercharged 3.4l engine trucks are using the 7th injector kit that URD-USA sells.

my question is, how hard is this to install? Where does the 7th injector tap into to get the fuel from the rail? what controls the 7th injector's firing?

Installation is not bad at all. If you know how to solder wires and install basic electronics its not to bad. the actual 7th injector taps into the supercharger itself where the egr port is and it gets fuel from one of the fuel lines on the driver side of the motor. Pretty much just cutting a rubber fuel line and tapping into it with a t fitting then hose clamping it down.

I would say the hardest part would be when wiring the actual unit in sync with the ecu only because its a tight space to work around, and well its your ecu.. but there arent that many wires to tap and really as long as you double check your wiring its quite difficult to mess anything up.

Good luck with your install. the instructions they provide are pretty good

Thanks for the writeup.

I only have one more question

How do we ensure that each cylinder is getting the same amount from the lone 7th injector?

That I don't know. I mean from my mechanical experience i don't know if there is a way to test it but I guess you can say I just "trust" that it works. Hahah

You could maybe. Run it without the urd 7th first. Then install the 7th and see/feel the difference.

When I did my install I did the SC, 7th, and 2.2 all together so I don't know the difference except from stock to boosted :)

i spoke with Gadget and he said that the heat generated from the SC lobes vaporize the fuel from the 7th injector making it evenly distribute where the air is going.

Makes sense.

It's not complicated to install. It is bit of a PITA though. It's a little cramped to get to the end of the fuel rail. At least it was on my 2001 4Runner. Which reminds me, I need to sell that 7th injector.

edit 01/18/16 : both of by extra 7th injector kits are sold.

What is measurement (height) of URD 7th injector?

Plan on buying URD 7th injector kit soon for my 2001 4Runner with 1st gen (grey one) supercharger. I looked at the space between the s/c and the electronic abs/brake booster assy (where the injector mounts) and it looks very tight! I measured 3" , maybe 3 1/8" at the most. Does anyone know the measurement (height) of URDs 7th injector? Thanks in advance.
