do you happen to have the install instructions handy?

that looks very appealing for the $105 price.

what problems are you having as i would be doing the install on the 2000 4runner my wife has.

Yep here are the instructions

The problem lies on page 9-10. i haven't been able to get the shifter extension to fit over the clamshell spacers on the steering shaft. I am thinking that i might have gotten the wrong spacers. I sent a photo of it to Gadget to check. Its either that, or i'm just stupid and not doing it right which is very likely

You need to remove the white plastic bushing, slide the spacers on the shaft, paying close attention to the taper, slide the new shifter ball on then follow the instructions. I;m sure you're done by now and this is a moot point, but thought it may help.

Thanks 8sm. I was sent the incorrect kit so thats why i was having trouble. I got the correct one installed and it works perfectly!

Like fitting a round peg in a square hole. lol

I really like the difference in the shift throw. I'm glad it worked out for you.

I wondered why the kit did not include a new plastic bushing. Ours took a beating taking it off and reinstalling it. A new bushing would have been nice.

Yep a bushing wouldn't be a bad thing to add. I picked up one from Marlin not too long ago. I also highly recommend the shifter seat bushing from him.

The throw is considerably shorten over stock, well worth the money. Very useful while hanging on 1st gear looking for a quick throw to a 2nd gear pull. A must buy, the Marlin lever socket and ball seats. We reused the stock socket/ball seats and everything work well. However reading SteveMcQ review we made the change, highly recommend these new parts from Marlin.

So that's what it does!

Dylan, do you like it? Was it worth doing?

8sm pretty much covered it. Definitely worth the money and I'll do it again if i ever replace my 4runner with another 3rd gen.

Gerdo, Feel free to drive it next time we go wheeling.
