Urethane suspension bushings..

I'm looking for any comments or input from anybody who has used them or driven a truck with them(pro or con). Thinking of installing them on our 1990 4runner. Was interested in how people viewed them over the oem Toyota bushing.

I run poly bushings almost everywhere on my Runner, but it's not your ordinary truck either.

Main thing to remember is that that don't absorb vibrations like rubber does, they will transmit vibes through the vehicle.

Thanks for the reply. I'll take that into account. How are they on the road or hwy? The old rubber bushings on our rear control arms are bad enough that stability at speed(hwy) is marginal. Hopefully the urethane units would help that.

If you have bad bushings, new ones will obviously be an improvement, poly or rubber.

Which is up to you.

I'm thinking of going poly for the sway bars and lateral rod. I'll see what the vibrations are like. The Toyota dealer here wants $50 per bushing and it needs 8, not including the lateral rod. Whereas, the poly set-up complete is under $100. Having bought rubber parts(motor & trans mounts) from the dealer before, they look like(and act like) they've been in storage for 30 years(ie already beat up or shot). This is not bad if they are inexpensive but this is not the case here.
