I'm an idiot. :hello:
Bottom line: I lost the timing in my '90 3VZ-E... and am afraid I shouldn't drive it to work tomorrow. It's my only car! Is there anything I can do? Read on below for more info.
Please let me know!!

lol So somebody showed me the adjustment bolt on my distributor that allows you to change your timing. I was told you just start the truck, loosen that nut, and move the distributer back and forth till it sounds good. No need for timing light.
So I did that.
Told another auto-friend what I did.
Was then told I shouldn't have done that. Was told you have to jump something in the diagnostics connector (Te1-E1?), DEFINATLEY use a timing light, adjust your d.cap to the right time, lock it back down, pull out the thing in the diagnostics connector, then shut off the truck.
Was also told that if you do anything other than that...at all... you run the risk of blowing up my timing belt.
So now I'm all paranoid and wondering if it really is running right... and wondering if I'm gonna end up with a HUGE problem in the middle of the work doay tomorrow... this is my daily driver truck!!
Am I ok? Is there anyway to set it properly or even close now that I've moved it? There are little "rings" etched out in the slide plate for the timing adjustment bolt thingee (on the d.cap)... can I line my bolt up with one of those three and feel relatively safe till I get a timing light?
Help!
Thx.
