Ouch, that hurts. Actually, the Pacifica is #15. Also, I read in the paper that Dodge / Chrysler is thinking of dropping a few models and one of them might be the Pacifica.

Hey, the way I look at it, if the 4Runner is at the bottom of the barrel, it will be easier for me to pick a new 2008 at a better price. Life is what you make of it.

Behind the Explorer, Pathfinder, and Edge? I would say that is B.S.

It was probably price that put the 4runner down at 17 b/c it sure as hell is better than an Explorer.
 
Did you notice that the reliability scores were not considered in this list? In your face manipulation at it's best.

I think it's funny that most of you guys hate on rankings when they don't rate Toyotas high and then tout them when they do. who cares? This does mean very little and of course we all are a bit biased so how can you have an honest opionion?

How are you guys basing your opinions? Do you guys truly know much about any of those other cars? Probably very little.

I drive a Toyota because to me it's the best choice and is proven in reliablity and function and I'm not going to get butt hurt everytime a Toyota isn't ranked #1 in something.

The definition of SUV has changed alot in 10 years and crossover vehicles are what's selling and off road prowess means little to the general SUV buyer so don't expect the best off road capable SUVs to finish near the top.

Plus it's USNEWS that's giving the review not some dedicated car rag.
 
open minded message. appreciate it. I just read the review for the enclave on the NYTimes published a couple weeks ago. they said it should be called the Buick Gated Community. it's virtues included comfort comfort and comfort so for them their appreciation was for the comfortable not necessarily the rational. Buying and using a car has always at least for many been a "gut feel" kind of affair. Any one could make the 4 Runner Toyota Cadillac I would not care. It has the features, the feel and the performance that I wanted. It is a pretty rational process people use to select cars I would guess. the advertising, polls and ratings are helpful but as you point out useless in the face of a personal choice.

I think that's like National Geographic publishing Plasma television rankings. Or even Outdoor Living publishing rankings on sewing machines.:bash:

Sorry, but it's not a credible ranking in my opinion.

I definitely agree. What if we made a thread rating news stations? No one would give a sh*t because we aren't credible to rate things like that. Same goes for the news rating vehicles.

Who cares what they say... we know we got one of the best SUVs money can buy and there's no denying that.

But hey, the FJC is #5. The top 4 are lifted station wagons.

well, even though I love my 4R theres alot of fan boys here.

My 07 Sport with only 16,000mi on it has more creaks, rattles and pops that my 98 Dakota with 160,000mi and my wifes 03 Altima with 100,000mi....

Why is that? A nearly new $35,000 truck has more noises in it than a 9 year old $10,000 truck. :confused:

I'm hoping that I'll be able to find and fix most myslef since the dealers seem useless. I really hope everything I hear about Toyota reliablity is true.

Luck of the draw, I guess. My '04 hasn't had so much as a single rattle since it was new. It seems more solidly built than any other vehicle I have ever owned. Good luck finding your noises.
