Hey all,
Newb here... I installed a USA Spec PA15-TOY iPod Interface adapter in my 4Runner this weekend and had a few questions for those, if any, that have also installed this. My 4Runner is a 2008 Sport with the 10-speaker JBL Synthesis w/ in-dash 6-disc changer. Here's the link to the installation book for reference...

I had no problems installing it, but was surprised about a few things. I had to use the CAS-TA adapter (Y adapter) to replace a plug that was already in the headunit. I then connected the original plug into the adapter as well. I was surprised I even had to do this, because I was expecting an open port on the back of the headunit to connect to an 'external' CD Changer.
Also, upon testing/using the interface, I was surprised to find out that the connection was through the SAT port/button, and not the CD button on the headunit. I realize that this is due to the port I used on the back of the headunit, but I wanted to make sure that I made the right connection.
So here's my questions:
-Did you have to use the CAS-TA adapter to install?
-Do you have to access the iPod through the SAT button rather than the CD button?
The interface appears to be working as it is supposed to (Text display, Hybrid Mode, Playlist selection, Steering wheel control, etc...), but there is no way of identifying the FF, RWD, shuffle, and repeat buttons on the Headunit. I pretty much had to sit there and push each button (1-6 preset buttons) and memorize their function. I was hoping that there would be an icon on the screen above each button as there is when playing a CD. Unfortunately there isn't, and I'm wondering if it is because I hooked it up wrong.
