Used 5th gen T4R prices?

What do you all think is a good price on a used 5th gen Ltd or TE with, nav, kdss (for trail), no third row. No info on Edmunds and NADA guide. KBB seems to offer only 2009 options for 2010 vehicle.

New are going for as low as 500-1000 below invoice here. So, with 15K on the odo and normal wear, I's say $5K under invoice might make me bite. Anything less I rather buy new. Realty is that used will sell for just about what I will pay new so it is a moo point.

$32500 for a 2010 fully loaded TE (Nav,KDSS) with 20K miles or $36500 for a 2010 fully loaded LE (no 3rd row, yes nav) with 17K. Good deals or walk away and get a new one? Both are dealer rental cars (both Toyota used certified) here in the local area.

Looks like they are discounted 3-4K...personnally, I would opt for a new one. Find a 2010 left over and you'll get a pretty good deal. Not to mention the bumper-to-bumper warranty is 50% used on both of these vehicles...and who knows how they were treated.

One more thing to add, I bet they have a 2-3K profit cooked into each of the vehicles. So, if you could pick up the TE for 30K or less then I would consider it....but good luck getting them to move much.

If it is Toyota Certified, the warranty would be 3 years from the date you puchase the vehicle or 100k. I would be willing to bet they have more than 2-3k profit built in. Try more like 5k. Dealerships make more money on used cars than they do new.

If you are interested in a used car. Ask them what they have in it right now. If they are reputable, they can show you what they have in the car right now. They do run reports on these types of things. My guess is that they would like to make $2000-2500 on it. If they bought it right that difference might be a good deal for you.

Based on the information you have, you know a 2010 can be had around invoice. When working a deal on the used 4Runner see if the difference is worth it to you. If not, buy new.

If you can find a brand new '10 that you like, it can be had for less than invoice. I just bought a '10 Rav4 for $900 below invoice. Similiar deals apply to 4Runners also. Good hunting!

You may have to drive a little bit out of your area, but it's well worth it.

It's hard to figure that out from the dealer as both TE and LE were rentals that they got from Toyota.

They will still have that info. If the used car manager is up front with you, he/she will share it with you.

I would stay away from rental or loaner cars myself regardless of the difference.
