Used basket rack--- worth it?

I posted on Craigslist that I was looking for a cargo basket. A guy sent me this pic and said he'll take 50 bucks for it. He says it has a little rust, but is in overall good shape.

I figure that with some sanding down and spray paint, it should be fine. What do you all think. Is it worth 50 bucks and the time to put into it?

I'd do it... I'd spray with Dupli-color truck bed liner. I think that'd be cool:bigok:

The guy said it is a thule brand, and that that it is about 3ft by 4ft. I figure if it is structurally sound, then I can sand it down and shoot it with some paint, and it will be all good.

Gonna go look at it tomorrow.

For the price your pauing you could get it sandblasted and paint it with the bed liner.

I picked it up today. I pressure washed it, took the segments apart, and spray painted it flat black. I may do more in the future, but wanted to get it done. I'll post pics later. I just gotta figure out a way to get it mounted now.

It goes from the rear of the sunroof, to just about an inch from the spoiler, when the back door is raised. It has an 18 inch section that can come out too.

That rack could probably be mounted with Yakima mounts...you would need 4 mounts...the same that mount the MegaWarrior and Load Warrior.

If you email Yakima, they are really good about getting back with you pretty quickly. They may be closed for the holiday though.

After doing some research, it looks like I have a Thule M.O.A.B. basket. It is around 450-500 new. Not a bad score. I talked with the local Thule dealer today, who pointed me in the right direction.
