Used Car Dealerships That Specialize in Toyotas

I am looking to buy a 4WD 3rd Gen 4Runner and as usual its not easy to find ones with low(ish) miles and good service records and in good condition. I have noticed that there are several small used car dealerships across the country that tend to carry mostly Toyota's.

Just wondering if any of you knew of any more used car dealerships that I could check out for a 4Runner.

I ran across this place a while ago. Know nothing about them but they always a 3rd gens listed in nice shape and they sell fast

Be careful, quite a few of the yards around here that stock mostly Toyota trucks are just buying them from auction, sprucing them up and flipping them. You never really know what you're getting unless it has a service history. Carfax is decent, but try running any trucks you look at through the Toyota Owners page and see what history the trucks had at dealerships and some mechanics shops over the years.

This really sums it up especially here in Florida. Most of the 3rd gens I looked at through a dealer were all acquired at auction. When these pop up at auction, they get snatched up by dealers who have no clue other than to give it a detail and mark it up by about 2 grand.

There's a indie lot in Glendale, CA (L.A. area) that specializes in 4runners and Tacomas. Lists in CL and Auto Trader. Everyone in the area who's looking for one of these eventually makes the pilgrimage to Glendale to see all these great looking trucks.
They look great, but most of them are leaking something, and the guy won't allow you to have a mechanic check it out.
Remember: When you buy from a lot, you are paying somewhere between $2000 to $4000 more than the lot guy bought it for.

That’s how used dealers work. Buy at auction, give it a detail, and mark it up. They need to make a profit on these somehow. With that said there’s no reason to get duped. You can find auction data for almost any vehicle by googling a VIN nowadays. I tend to stay away from copart vehicles. It usually means that they couldn’t sell it on the street.

I don't know about everyone but I've had some pretty good luck with local private party... of course look before u buy but the prices is usually right.
