Using newer window motor for 88 rear window?

I have been looking around in some yards and have only been able to come across a 95, a 99, and an '01 with the rear motors still there. MY question is can I use one of these motors to replace the rear window motor on my 88 or are there major differences?

I bet the 95 would work...your best bet is to bring your old motor with you so you can compare them to be sure.

I just sold a motor from my 88 parts truck, do you need anything else? I did not want to sell it but, the girl is local and kind of cute....I'm a sucker for a damsel in distress:girl: "My window wont work can you help me please";):

You sure are. Theres that pic of you with the cute girl beside your car.

:girl: " excuss me sir could i have a picture with you and your very cool car!!"

LOL, The cute girl is the wife she is pretty cute to me too:)

When I took the window motor loose from the regulator for the damsel in distress I had not realized how much spring pressure there was on it....I have a very nasty finger wound now:sobbing:

Not the wife;):

Right on, I might need some other things actually. This is my first 4runner, so I am new to its workings. I have been wanting one of these bad boys ever since I started driving, and this ol' girl is a dream! Thanks for the help, and I might be getting back to you on some parts possibly.
