Using radio when vehicle is off?

Hi all,

I am new to this site. My wife and I just sold her 2004 4Runner SR5 and we just picked up our 2011 4Runner Limited yesterday. We like it a lot so far and I'm in the process of learning about all the bells and whistles. It has the navigation system with satellite radio, as well as the smart-key system.

My issue is that I can't seem to find out how to use the radio when the vehicle isn't running. I've looked through the manual and tried everything I can think of... No doubt there's an easy answer for this, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out! Can somebody help?

Thanks in advance.

Tap the 'engine start/stop' button.

(Then press "Party Mode" and ... PARTY!- he heh e)

BTW- it is in the manual. Though things in that manual are not always clear. I've never seen so many typos and grammar errors!

Radio

Tap the start button without your foot on the brake pedal. The light on the butten will be yellow instead of green. Then you can turn the radion on. If you push it a second time, the dash lights come on. The third time, everything is off.
