USPS Thumbs WAY down

FedEx is the superior carrier for international shipments

USPS doesn't deal in international shipping, they are pretty much a broker in that respect. All of their international packages go in the belly of the Fedex or UPS planes.

I cant speak too much to international shipping, but I have had more damaged packages with fedex than any other shipper. they are TERRIBLE.

I agree with you in regards to FedEx ground packages. Fedex actually uses contractors to deliver those packages, all the local facilities are like franchises pretty much. As a result most of the drivers don't give a shit, but some do

As for FedEx Express, they all work directly for the company, and actually exercise quite a bit of caution. Their freight branch is quality too.

that's good to know.
and yes, im aware of the subcontracted trucks. we do fleet work for a few of them around here.

USPS Strikes again. Picked up a package from me, then it "dissappeared" and they basically told me since they didn't have "record" of it being picked up....to go pound sand. So either the carrier lost it or stole it, and I'm out the cost of the part and shipping.

Thanks USPS! Worst shipping company EVER.

Meanwhile, FedEx (while more expensive) has been solid and consistent. Even when they ruin my packages (which happens often).

Seriously we need a new shipping company that gives a crap about their customers :/

Oh BTW, they screwed me out of the balancer in the original post too. Denied my claim saying it was my fault it was lost (I dropped it AT the post office, they scanned it, AND I got a receipt!)

I had a similar bad experience with USPS. I had to send an item back to the manufacturer for a recall/refund. they were refunding based on MSRP if you no longer had a receipt. which I didn't.

so I sent it via USPS, with $500 worth of insurance. the refund was going to be about $100 more than that. according to their tracking info, my package stalled many states from where it was intended. I filed a claim. they denied my claim, because I couldn't show a receipt saying it was worth what I was asking. they wouldn't even pay out the insurance that I paid EXTRA for.
