My first time getting the 4Runner off-road to try the off-road goodies of the Sport Edition...definitely high centered the fuel tank a few times...and slashed a thin-walled highway tire. All in all, a good time.

What look like fully inflated all season tires would get owned on stuff like that.

Cool pics. Were you able to change the tire on the trail - did you have a hi-lift jack or normal crank one.

Definitely all-season tires but they were deflated to 15psi. That plus the 2 ply sidewall contributed to the cut tire. They had some surprisingly good grip for all-season shoes.

We had both a hi-lift and the bottle jack. It was a slow leak so we were able to get to a gravel road and make the change with the bottle jack. Not sure where I'd lift with a hi-lift...

Looks like fun. Those are the trials I enjoy. Nothing too strenuous, but you definitely have fun.

Check out the Uwharrie National Forest.

It is about 30 minutes south of Ashboro, NC, or 90 minutes east of Charlotte, NC. There are trails suited for all capabilites of vehicles. Even some of the difficult trails have bypasses for un-modified vehicles.
