V6 - Borla or TRD?

Anyone have experience with one or the other of these? I'm unfortunately not ready to pull the trigger just yet. Hopefully in a month or at least by the end of the year. I've always been a fan of the TRD and had it on the two Scion tCs I had. If I went with the Borla for the dual exhaust, I was thinking about possibly having the tailpipes go out the back as I saw someone posted about. I do not believe the pictures were still available, but it sounded like a good idea. Thanks.

Right. Borla does not make the TRD, but I'm not surprised that someone other than Toyota does. I was thinking of going TRD with the intake and exhaust. It doesn't look like TRD makes much else for the T4R. Then again, I'm not sure how much more I'm going to do to it. Its a two wheel drive daily driver and its not likely that I'll be going offroad.

Hey, let me know when you do get a catback system. I might be interested in your stock resonator/tailpipe. My vehicle was originally from Kansas City and has some rust on the stock ones and I might want to replace it.

The intake is made by aFe, I think I found mine $100 cheaper than buying the exact same TRD version.

Could be. I believe AEM may have made the intake for TRD when I had my '07 Scion tC. I had a K&N on my '05 tC, but it wouldn't fit the '07.

TRD or Borla?

If I had the V6 I would go with the TRD exhaust and TRD intake. That is just me. The Borla dual exhaust system is the same for the V6 and V8 but it is expensive. That just happens to be the system I have on my V8. With that being said, what do YOU want and for what reasons? The other systems are Gibson, Magnaflow, and Flowmaster. The cheapest way is to buy the muffler and do a local shop fab job. Cherry Bomb Vortex is insane. Someone here has a custom Flowmaster system that sets off car alarms. Dual exit out the back.

Enjoy!

Performance and a nice exhaust note. I don't want anything ricey and I do like the sound of the TRD. If I had the V8, I would be going a different route with a dual setup of some kind. I'd want it to be loud then. Nice V8 rumble. Thanks for the info.

GIBSON 100% ALL THE, I'LL NEVER LOOK BACK:trophy:

This is what I've heard. I decided on a gibson because its cheaper, it has a flow through system, and it works best between 2000-400, which is best for a daily driver. I don't think the TRD is straight through, so I don't know if that will be exactly what you want. It is nice to have TRD equipment though.

I am sorry VTECMONSTER but I am on a deployment right now, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I don't have access to the information on my setup. I am sure there is another member here who could answer your question. mustangchris66? He has a V6 4runner but the Borla setup is for both V6 and V8, its the same part number. I do have to admit I think I have different exhaust tips though. His looks smaller than mine. Now I am starting to wonder...I will have to remember to check on that once I get back in June. Oh and I have contacted Borla before, about hanger replacements, so I am positive if you email them, they will be quick to respond with your answer.
