v6 engine knock on cold start

hey all,

i've got a 98 v6 manual, its the daily driver and spends most of its time in a heated garage but as of late i've been parking it outside all day while im at work. i've noticed that on real cold days my motor has a kinda hollow metal on metal ping for a min or so. its most pernounced under load. the motor has almost 350kms on it. i have lots of power still and the motor starts, runs and idles like butter, well except for the inital knock/ping thats going on.

anyone have any ideas? should i be worried that my buddy is dying?

I have a 99 with 317 Kilometers on it. Sometimes on cold mornings -20 ish... I'll hear a slight knock, it's done it since I bought it in 2009, and does it everynow and then...I'm not too worried at all.

Might be a good time to seafoam the top end to free up the piston rings.

will putting the seafoam in my gas do this or does it have to be through an intake line?

cold engines make weird sounds. When it gets close to 10 here in NM my truck knocks just after i start it. Pour a bottle of lucas in the gas tank
