V6 Exhaust question

For V6 owners, does your exhaust pipe flatten out at the point where it crosses over in front of the transfer case? Mine appears to have a flat spot on the pipe, but there is no visible sign of damage to the pipe.

I checked and mine flattens out in the same spot. Probably for better ground clearance.

Yes, my exhuast is flattened down behind the t-case as well. This is the same for all 4th and 5th gen 4runners, Tacomas, and FJ's.

My 1st view , Toyota's idea for back pressure ? URD y-pipe solved it on both mine !! Or have a muffler shop create one ?

Thank you all for posting up. I figured it was flatness by design since I had no signs of scraping or damage, but I just wanted to be sure!
