V6 Power

Hello,
I'm from France and actually owned a pickup/hilux 1992...
I'm planning to buy a runner V6 1993. Nice vehicles for all I need (family and sometimes of road)...
Do you guys need some ways to ameliorate the low rpm power (torque?)??
And have some solutions to makes the V6 more powerfull?

Theres not much you can do to the 3VZE.

I fitted extractors and a 2 1/2" hi flow exhaust. Intake mod and removed the engine driven fan to fit a thermo fan. It made a worthwhile difference before I drowned it in a mud hole:bash:

i dont know really anything about the 3vze motor. but gaining as for gaining more torque would could change the gear ratio.
i hear that the 4.88 gears with 22re are good but the V6 im not sure.

can you tell me approx how much you spent?

did the exhaust compromise the economy at all??

and off topic, do you have to travel far from melbs to find nice remote areas? got any photos of some of the scenery there?

I live about a 3/4 hour drive east of Melbourne, I am going out tomorrow with 5 other 4 Runners and a hi Lux to gembrook and the surrounding state forests. It will take me about 1/2 hour to get to the meet point then another ten minutes to get to the tracks.

Having the High Country and the bottom of The Great Dividing Range so close I am almost surrounded by State Forests and National Parks. So I rarely need to travel more than an hour to get to some good wheeling.

I popped in a fuel injected 5.0 litre V8 from a VT commodore.

Cost of extractors and 2 1/2 " hi flow exhaust for the 3VZE was about $1200.

It's become the preferred recovery vehicle of choice, the V8 howls in low range at full noise when recovering.

I am sending it off for a dyno tune soon now that I have shaken the conversion down.

Will probably cam it with a bigger inlet, throttle body and aftermarket tunable computer soon. The power bug bites almost as hard as the 4WD bug did

Thanks mate, the greenies/politicians are slowly closing tracks all around Oz, but as we like to say when we do a clean up in the bush to get some good press, it's never 4WD tyres and parts we pull out, it's normal car bits. But they still treat us like vandals and bas****s.

yeh the govt. can suck my go-nads! but its also heart breaking arriving at a remote site littered with cans/stubies and various other shit!!

we used to have some nice hilly terrain in a region called dwellingup, but all the 4x4 tracks are closed, still they were nothing like the trails you showed!!!

in W.A its mainly about sand beaches or desert!!!

Yeh she nearly fell over there, a 40 had just rolled going down the entry to the track I am exiting.

Part of the charm is surprising people at the lights too, especially the ricers:
