V6 Towing

Never mind what the specs are, how heavy a boat or whatever have you towed, and any idea of your tongue weight?

I've towed 4 chords of wood 200 miles south from New Hampshire. Trailer weight at about 6,500lbs, maybe 600lbs of tongue weight? Big ass trailer... No problems at all!

Impressive! 11,000ft makes your truck starve for air. The fact you can fight through it is awesome. V6 ftw

My boat weighs about 4,500lbs w/trailer. Toung weight is about 300lbs

No troubles with my mods to my v6

I also have no trouble towing my dads Centurian Enzo Sv230 which is well over 5000lbs with a toung weight of 400lbs.. My back doesnt squat much because I'm lifted 3.5" in the rear with either

Your rear looks a little low in the picture. Did you put a leveling kit on your rig or do you still have the factory rake?

Its because of the angle of the sidewalk dropping to the street. When I'm on even ground the rake is pretty much even. That is a pic from last summer when I had 4" lift up front/3" rear, and 33's.. Since then I have put my coilovers up to about 4.5" and added a 1.5" body lift and 35's and re-lifted my rear to 3.75L" and 3.5R" instead of 3" on both sides for the lean

That is a lot of lift! I only have a 2.5" daystar kit

Also trailering is easier for you because you have extra power from your bored V6.

I should take a picture of the marina where we launch our 21' Bayliner. There is like a 45 degree uphill grade. It's ridiculous!

More than I should have but it did fine for the 50 miles I needed to go. The tongue weight was over what it should have been I'm sure. most of the weight of the Chevy was on the front of the trailer, but it was about 4500Lbs. total.

I towed in 3 till I got on the highway and kicked it up to 4. It held 75 just fine even with minor hills.

During the summer I tow about 3000lbs on a regular basis. Between my pop-up and my gear it's about 3000lbs. If I was to tow 5000ls regularly I might consider the V8...but the V6 handles this with no problems what-so-ever.

i tow a 4,500 boat on a ~1,000 tandem axle trailer with brakes (~5,500 lbs total). no problem. installed a tranny cooler just to be safe. never use OD, try to keep the revs above 2K.

tongue weight is about 350 lbs. everything i've seen is that it should be 5-10% of the total trailer weight.
