V6/V8 OEM hitch directions

Hi There -
I've racked up a few thousand miles towing approx. 4k lbs with my '04 V8 SE - not having any issues while on the road.
My driveway/street does have some dramatic camber and I often ground out the back end of the trailer when exiting/entering. I've thought about switching the hitch upside down (V6 Style) to lower the tongue of the trailer, which might level things off a bit better. Is there a safety reason for not doing this? Is the V8 lower or have softer rear springs than the V6? (No, I'm not using a WD setup.)
Thanks for your help!
Simon

General recommendations for towing insist that the tongue be level with the trailer or the trailer is slightly tipped towards the vehicle when loaded (and I do mean slightly).

Try it and see with an unloaded trailer first. If this seems to work okay, load the trailer and try it for a short haul around the block.

Whatever it takes to get the trailer to ride level is the setup you need to use on the road. I'm not sure why Toyota recommends flipping over the receiver. It might have something to do we the V8 weight. I have the same type of problem on my driveway. What I did is make up another receiver setup to use getting over the driveway. When I get home I just change out the receiver in front of the house with the other setup and proceed up the driveway with no problem.
