I recently acquired a 2008 4runner UrbanRunner Edition. It has a V6 engine in it, but I am interested in putting a lift on it (suggestions for lifts welcome) as well as some other things including exhaust. Has anyone on here put an exhaust on their V6? I've not heard good things about the way exhaust sounds on a V6 so I was wondering if any of y'all have done an engine swap from V6 to V8? I would want to keep it as a toyota engine, just swap an engine from a 4runner with the V8 in it, has anyone done this? I would love some input

It'd be way too much work to try and swap a V8. If you're gonna spend that much money just spend it on a TRD supercharger, a good tune, and methanol injection. Especially if you sourced a used supercharger it'd make way more sense.
Also those 4.0 L sound pretty good with a full exhaust (headers, Y-pipe, and muffler). Not like a V8 but pretty good all the same.

I don't recall reading about anyone doing the swap but it's forsure doable and most likely has been done before.
My opinion on the whole subject tho...For the money and time your going to spend on the swap, your better off to trade it for a 4runner with a V8 from the factory. On the positive side of things if your 4runner is 4x4 and you do the swap, you'd have a V8 with selectable 2wd, that would be sweet.
