V6 vs. V8 Overall Legth

Does anybody know why the V-8 overall length is 1" greater than the V-6 (190" vs. 189")? If it's because the engine takes up more room in the engine bay it seems it would be prohibitively expensive to manufacture with the whole front end 1" further forward. A Toyota salesperson told me the front bumper is 1" further forward to make room for the bigger engine. If this were true wouldn't the radiator, condenser, trans cooler, headlights, and everything else have to be 1" further forward? Even the hood and front fenders would have to be 1" longer. Is the exhaust pipe just an inch longer? Where's the inch?

I thought it was the dealer blowing smoke also. I had another thought though. Maybe the extra inch is due to the V-8 equipped 4Runners having a 1" longer "weight-distributing" trailer hitch.

You might be right.... I noticed that the V8 hitch receiver seems to stick out a bit more than the one on the V6.
