V8 and TH350 tranny conversion

Hi,

First time I've posted here. Am looking to buy a 93 4Runner. Motor is really weak and not much compression so am thinking of doing it up big time. Small block Chevy and a TH350 auto tranny. Has anyone had experience with this swap? How about axles and the transfer case? Strong enough if you aren't beating on it too bad? I would think you'd need some bigger springs in the front also to handle the extra weight? Going to lift it 4" and put some 33"ers on it. Thanks for any information!!

Oh yeah and here's a picture of the 85 I went through a number of years ago. Rebuilt 4 banger with offy and Weber carb, headers, cam, lifted, 33's, custom paint by me (I designed PREDATOR Camouflage so what else could you expect me to put on it!)

Advance Adapters has what you need for the swap.

Front IFS axles will be the weak link, you'll be breaking birfs if you don't take it easy.

Yes, you'll have to beef-up and lift the front both to handle the weight of the V8 and for clearance under it.

A 2-3" body lift will also be needed.
