How many miles are on this 5vz?

I have an interesting request for you, if you don't mind. While you have both body's off could you snap a few pics of the front diff setup on both trucks so I can compare the two as closely as possible, I may do a front 8" conversion on my third gen with that diff.
Preciate it Sing!
That is one clean 2uz. Good find Greenbow, as well as taking excellent care of your 4runner.
I don't think I could sleep; I'd just be counting 2uzs until I took delivery of my new ride.
LittleCaesar big thanks, was hoping to wrap things up sooner but between newborn, work and losing other auctions I've been antsy to finish the build. Told my boss and family I need a real vacation this year so in August I'm heading west for three weeks on expo (NM, AZ, CO, CA, OR, WA, BC:canada:,ID and WY) Truck will be completed for sure by end of June, no exceptions. Can't tell you how excited I am about this swap. After this time for:
Bumpers
JDM aux cabin ion filter
Wheels and 35s
Sound upgrade
Roll bar and cargo slide tray install
Paint:car:
Tundra's up until 2007 had the same diff as the 4runner.
So no benefit swapping diffs.
You don't say... I could have sworn they were 8". I appreciate the info, no need to save if for me in that case!
if you want a stronger front diff swap in a 2003 or newer front diff, or a second gen tacoma front diff, those are the 8" front diff
That's the new plan! I thought I was going to have quick access to this diff but didn't realize it was the exact same! I may attempt to swap a 4th gen rear axle as well and get me some good rear brakes...
What sort of power does the V8 swap make to the wheels?
Is it a massive improvement over a supercharger? Now that I've had my 4Runner tuned I am interested to compare numbers... knowing that any comparison needs to be taken with a grain of salt of course.
The Tundra is 271 hp while the 5vz-fe is 190 hp plus supercharger of max gain of 40 hp for a total of 230 hp.
It is a massive improvement because the V8 makes its power in the lower rpms while the supercharged needs to wind out to make its power.
Odd, my supercharger comes on strong at low RPM's... You're a smart guy so I bet I'm wrong, but are you thinking of a turbo?
My 4Runner makes ~230 WHP and 285 WTQ. The torque does continue to climb (not completely flat) and I bet the low end grunt of the V8 torque would be desirable but perhaps not as noticeable as you believe?
In any case, I think a D4D conversion is on my wish list. Diesel is where it's at.
