V8 conversion

Picked up my AC hose today. $135. Installed it and fits beautifully. Will post more pictures , this weekend.

Bad news for me though. I had an in depth conversation with the AC man and he said that I will loose severe efficiency running from condensor backwards. So, I need to redo it and get a new line from the compressor to the condenser.

Worked on it last nigh for 5 minutes.

Took hoses - Long on is V8, short one is V6

Need to re-install the airbag and wire up my cruise. (To bad i have to go to work today).

Bummed out because I have continuing education class all day tomorrow too..

5 minutes?!! Would've taken me a couple hours.

Is the AC ready to pump down? I assume you have access to a vac pump. If not I can drop by with a pump and manifold.

(Yeah, I know. Lame excuse to see this project in person. :-) )

Continueing Ed blows. Anywho, I wired up the cruise and installed the instrument cluster.

I took it for a test drive. Smooth but the B would not rev past 3000 rpm. It was stuck in some kind of limp mode. I was perplexed. I got a scan tool from a buddy and everything checked out.

I drove around with the scan tool hooked up and had no codes. I looked at the ignition advanced and it was -18. that seemed weird. I brought it back to the house and while it is in neutral and park, it was reading +10 and if I revved it up, it would increase proportionally.

So I disconnected the park neutral switch from the ECU and Bingo, the limp mode was gone.

OMG It has so much power. It is quick, quicker then my dad's Sequoia. My ricer intake is loud. The exhaust is quiet.

It lights up the tires so easily.

Wow. It is fast.

Still need to tie up the wires on the inside, put the interior back together, and change the oil

Very cool Singtoe. Let's get some video up of it then you can start your waiting list for engine swaps. Jeep guys pay 20k for Hemi swaps. Us cheap ass Yota guys will give you at least $500. I personally would go at least 1k for you to do it for me.
 
Another funny story. I drove the 4runner to work and everything was fine. Awesome power. Went home , Great.

Buddy called me up and needed help. Went to his shop, gave him a jump and went home.

On my way home, my truck started to act up. Cutting in and out. I was freaking out. It then died. Left me stranded on the side of the road. Called a buddy and thought I was going have to tow it back. I had him bring me some gas. It started up. I proceeded to the gas station and put in 16 gallons.

I ran out of gas...

My gas gauge is backwards. Before, it said I had a full tank, After filling it up, it was reading E and the low fuel light was on.

Don't feel too bad....In another life i had a 1970 Mach1 that I put on a Holley pro-jection fuel injection system. I spent a decent amount of time and money to convert the carb motor over to EFI. Had it running then it died. I could see the injectors squirt fuel, so I figured it was ecu related and spent a few weeks diagnosing it...turns out I was out of gas. Had enough pressure to "show" fuel at the injectors.....but none to speak of to RUN the car :) THAT SUCKED....I can laugh at it now....

Yeah, I am going to be in Raleigh this weekend also. We need to do a get together for all the local people to see this thing.

l Aint sk8rd... I will record a VDO On my way to work today. I'll be embarrassed about how loud my Crappy cold air intake is. Might need to do a snorkel to tame the noise....

I am also driving it all apart with wire dangling all over the place. I just want to make sure all the bugs are out, making sure the fuel gauge works correctly before buttoning everything back up.
