V8 conversion

I assume this is going to be a sleeper? It would be SO funny to have all the original badges on it (V6, SR5 or whatever, etc.) on it, and then school tons of people who think you're driving a stocker. LOL

I'd like to see how fast it really is before people want to talk about "schooling" others. How many ponies was the V8 originally and did you mod the V8 at all?
A Rav4 runs the 1/4 in the 14.7 range which is decent quick but I'm not so sure it would be quicker than that. You still have a bit over 2 tons to get moving but definetly want to see how quick it really is. Cool project but not for the mechanically challenged or faint of wallet.

I'm thinking more along the lines of schooling people who would normally try - e.g., if you get two of the same vehicle next to each other, one of them is always going to try to inch alongside. That sort of thing.

I wasn't talking about Vettes, Stangs, etc. LOL :)

The HP will vary by year of Sequoia, given the dash cluster I'd guess earlier Sequoias 01-04....

Engine
4.7 L 240 hp (179 kW) V8 (2001-04)
4.7 L 282 hp (210 kW) V8 with VVT-i (2005) I have this one :0
4.7 L 273 hp (204 kW) V8 with VVT-i (2006-07)

Isn't the Rav4 Toyota's fastest production vehicle right now...?

More on topic, congrats Singtoe.

Buckle up. :police:

i would LOVE to see what this does on the dyno. The video IS impressive. i'm not trying to take away from that. i wanna see NUMBERS!!! lol

Dont forget about the torque though, that v8 is gonna put down a ton more torque than the stock v6. How much lighter is the 4runner than a Sequioa?

Likin the video! I saw the brake light come on though about 60mph then off again at 80, whats that about?

oh, and cold air intakes are supposed to be louder than stock intakes, thats what happens when you eliminate all those wasteful resonators that slow down airflow.

Im wondering how much more hp you will get when you have a V8 exhaust, you are choking that thing on the exhaust end.

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE... :bravo: So cool to finally see a video of it up and running! From the looks of it, that thing gets it pretty good. Congratulations once again Singtoe! Great work.

That thing is AWESOME! I don't think the intake sounds that bad, however unfortunately I can only hear it through the video and not in person. I'd love to see this thing. Great job! :hatsoff:

The V8 supposed to have 315 lb/ft in stock form.

Brake light comes on from either the the parkng brake or low brake fluid. I need to to top off the brake fluid. ( Still need to swap the Sequoia brakes over so I have been refraining from refilling the master up)

I am wonder about the exhaust too. I am sure that I'm hurting the power by using the V6 exhaust. I will take it to a muffler shop to get some duals installed , it should fix that.
