I just passed the 30k mark and the stealer wants me to do their $600 rig-a-marole, so i turned to t4r.org to look for suggestions...

Going through, i started writing stuff down, but thought it would be good to start a "Real" service list... here's what i got so far, please add your opinion to make this list better... Obviously this list is not complete, only the stuff everyone agreed on. Add away! (especially to the 30k one!)

Any references you have or qualifications (like, your a service rep) would be greatly appreciated!!!

or you could go here for the manufacture suggested schedule. this is NOT the dealer "suggested" schedule:

Here is what you do- works for me :D Go to the dealership and get their regular old oil/filter change that includes a 29 point inspection that covers all of the "look see" crap. Now look at the manufactures above recommended list and have the things done that say "change" "replace" . If you have owned your 4runner for 2 years then I would have the brake fluid changed also, don't know why the manufacture does not include changing the brake fluid? Good luck and whatever you do don't let the dealer sell you on their service packages.

just as a question
why did u say never under transmission fluid ?
I've heard that if u own the truck form day one then its ok to change
kinda a do it if u know but if u were to buy the truck down the road used then stay away
any thoughts?

I dump my tranny fluid every 30 k miles on every vehicle that I have owned. I have also done it on vehicles without any previous maintenance history. I have never had a problem.
