V8 tick sound

I recently bought a 2005 4Runner Ltd 4X4 V8(see sig for more info) with about 86,000 miles. This is my first 4Runner but it seems like the engine noise at idle is louder than I expected(engine noise, not exhaust note noise). My previous car(05 Infiniti G35 Coupe) had a much quieter engine, especially with the hood closed. The noise I'm hearing is just a ticking-type noise.

I have previously owned a 1995 Lexus LS400 which had a derivative of this engine and it was silent. This noise I can hear if the hood is closed and I am standing outside the car. Could this be some sort of valve noise or is this just normal for this engine? Would using seafoam be helpful?

It probably is normal. The V8 isn't silent, but it's quiet compared to a V6. Not knocking the V6 - it's just that all Toyota V6's have a very noticable ticking noise.

Mine does it too a little. My opinion (from reading a lot about this stuff) is that it's probably the valves/lifters or the fuel injection system.
