v8 towing w/ Equal-i-zer Sway Control Trailer Hitch

I just purchased a Bigfoot travel trailer 21RB (21.5 ft / 3800 Dry weight) in Mesa AZ. Successfully towed back to Austin, TX 1300 miles 1 way.
The trailer loaded weighs in close to 4500 lbs. The truck w/ V8 AWD did a great job towing. Full throttle up a few step inclines, but was still able to pull at 70+MPH in some series head-on winds without much problem. Gas mileage averaged 10MPG. Not to bad considering the 30MPH+ wind I was driving straight in.
I-10 allows for 80MPH driving and actually hit that a few times by mistake.
I am using the Equal-i-zer Sway Control Trailer Hitch. This was extremely helpful in minimizing sway. The trailer is known to be a little sway prone. The Equal-i-zer Sway Control Trailer Hitch is also a weight control system. It actually reduced the squat that most trucks have when loaded up with a tongue heavy trailer. I highly recommend this brand because it acts as a 4 point system, weight and sway. I installed a brake system, Prodigy, and had some issues with it - I'm going to have it checked out again and re-adjust. I am also at 28,000 miles in my 2004 4Runner and will change my Front/Rear diffs with synthetic Amsoil 80W90 and transfer case with Amsoil 75-90.

Great report and awesome looking rig :bigok: T4R's are so cool for many reasons but your pics highlight one of the big ones: A T4R can be a great daily driver compared with a full sized truck or SUV and still do "full-sized" work very well.

I have an 2005 4Runner and tow a 31 foot Traillite with the Equalizer. Absolutely no sway problem. Pulls great with the V8. I have looked at the Bigfoot and wished I could afford one. They seemed to be a very superior build and especially so in cold weather. I do like the size of mine, especially for the weight (5400 without our luggage). Hope you enjoy. By the way, it may just be the picture but your trailer seems just a little high at the ball. The Equalizer is easily adjusted, and if you run level you'll have better braking, less wear on the rear tires and the rear won't drag as much over driveways and other road irregularities.
