Thai suggested I post this on the open forum:
I saw in a post that you can replace the tranny filter, once the pan is dropped. Is this a recommended item (as I don't think I've seen it in the manual)?
I did drop the pan last year at around 30k, to install a temperature sensor. At that time I cleaned the magnet, which didn't have that much on it.
The truck does some heavy towing, and I just had the dealer do a total trans fluid flush at 58k miles( see here ) , even thought the fluid still looked real good (I have a larger tranny cooler/fan combo installed) - but I'm wondering now about the filter.
