Vacuum Lines...Do I really need all of them??

I'm getting ready to re-install a 22re in my 85 runner. Would it be any advantage to remove some of the vacuum hoses such as the emmissions or others?? A buddy of mine LC engine in his and has almost no hoses, although his has a carb. compared to my EFI.Anyway, I've been told it helps....Opinions???

If you have emissions testing where you are, disconnecting them is likely to cause it to fail. Not all the vacuum lines are for emissions, many are for the EFI system and/or to improveability, so you'd have to be careful which you eliminate.
