Valor Exhaust Tip Question

I like the look of a Valor exhaust tip and am considering purchasing one. However, I am worried about it not withstanding the messy winters of Michigan.

With our harsh winters, cars stay dirty most of the time between December and March. I am worried that the tip will lose its luster during the winter and I will not be able to bring it back once the warmer weather hits and I am able to wash and wax my 4Runner on a regular basis.

Has anyone who deals with extended winter weather dealt with this issue? If so, did the Valor tip keep its look?

Not to sound like a cheapskate, but you can get quite a few "knock off" exhaust tips for much less than you would pay for a Valor piece.

I have seen some rather decent-looking ones available at Pep Boys for less than $20. Even so, if it is "stainless steel" and has good chrome plating, it should be just fine all throughout your evil winter weather.

I have relatives who live in Michigan, so I know how bad it gets up there. Bleech!!
