Valor Exhaust

Has anyone purchased and installed the Valor Exhaust tip? I am thinking about getting it and I am wanting to know what it looks like on the vehicle. Does anyone have any pictures? Also is it easy to install? Thanks!

I just installed mine's on friday it looks really nice. very easy to install only takes 2mins. i don't have a camera now, maybe someone else might be able to show you how it look like.

I purchased mine from www.newtoyotaparts.com along with a cargo net. With the exchange rate, parts from the US work out cheaper than what is available here. This week I am also ordering the '06 LED tail lights and a True-Flow air filter.


On another note, does anyone with the Valor tip know if it can be welded on? I would like to try and have it welded on as opposed to bolt on. Especially since I plan to do the occasional off-roading.

You would not want to weld it on; you would compromise the metal and the weld would start to rust quickly, even if you used stainless rod. The Valor tip uses a stainless strap clamp which is very clean. Also, if the tip gets damaged off-road you can simply replace it if it is clamped on.

i just checked my tip the other day and saw rust on the drain hole, Its stainless steel. how can that happen? Does anyone if you guys have that?
 
the tip is great. i gotta get one 4 both my Gx and my 4runner. so far i only hav it on my Gx, which i just recently bought. my original plan this summer was to get a chrome tip and front tint on the Gx but for some reason i ended up buying a 4runner!! after i bought it the dealer has this little coupon , taking 15% off any Toyota accessory at my dealer. i just bought one to see how ez or hard it will be 2 install it. looks great so i might order another one for my 4runner.

There are different grades of stainless and the one used for most exhausts will rust very slowly. Just keep it clean and it should last the life of the vehicle. If the exhaust was made of stainless that will not rust at all, it would cost way too much. I have a titanium exhaust on my motorcycle that costs $1200. The whole exhaust weighs 6.5 lbs. and is the length of tail pipe on an average car.
