I'm planning on selling my 1988 4runner soon, its a 2.4l 5spd. new paint, new clutch, interior, great condition in and out. Runs excellent too, any ideas how much it would be worth in Alberta??

I have a 88 Acura and the biggest thing about a car that old is the condition of the car. Remember we are talking about a 16 year old car.
Anyway, I punched in some numbers at www.edmunds.com and put some guesses in, like 200,000 miles on the SUV with air conditioning. It said it was worth $1085 to sell and $1850 at a dealer. (This is in US dollars). You may want to plug in your own numbers to see what they think it is worth.
BUT the biggest thing is the condition, it could be worth much less and quite a bit more. I mean most cars get junked at around this time, right. Except of course for my 88 Integra and your 88 4Runner.

well its pretty excellent condition, if i replace the exaust system i think it would pretty much rust free, theres a ding or two on top of >1yr old paint, but it runs close to silent but has about 287,000clicks. im comtemplating just keeping it and stripping it as a pure weekend 4x4

That is what I did with my Integra, great shape, not worth much, keep it as a extra car. When it is about to fall apart sell it.
If your really interested in selling your 4Runner, you may want to check ads in the local paper for something that is simular. It sounds like it has givien you a lot of good years.
