Value of a 2002 with 31 k

It was just an opinionated statement made on the internet from some random schmuck in his 30's trying to figure out why people sell cars for much more than what they are worth.

Cars (and everything else) are worth exactly what someone is willing to pay.

I have to quote my banker here...."the vehicle is worth the age and the age impacts the price. If it's not antique, you don't have an advantage on low mileage, fairly-recent model years."

I guess this ride is one Grandma only drove to church on Sundays and for Bridge Club once a month. The mileage is allegedly low and that is attractive but to reiterate the point of many, the age can also be a problem when it comes to replacing parts. (Dry rot, lack of lubrciation due to lack of driving, etc.)

These rigs need to be run a bit to keep em lubed up. The price seems pretty freaking high even given the low mileage....

That sounds great, but it also explains why your Banker works for someone else..

He has no imagination. Everything is strictly by the book. He's also no doubt thinking in terms of loan value. Which is irrelevant if the buyer doesn't need a loan.

The reality is that there are buyers out there that don't use logical, calculating reasons for buying certain things.

There are things that trip their trigger, and if they find an example that does that, and have the funds to make it happen, they'll offer whatever it takes to secure the item.
