Valve cover leak.

I searched and found a lot of info on the valve cover leaking.I have a 95 4x4. V6. I know my driver side is seeping. But the passenger side is hard to see. I know I smell a lot of oil burning on the manifold. It stinks. Bad. It leaves a small quarter size spot after a day. I just bought this thing about two months ago. I love it. Am i going to have to take the plenum off to change the gasket or are there any fix it ideas. Im low on cash. But very free on time.
Thanks

My covers leak to. the drivers wont be hard to change but you do have to remove the plenum for the pass side.

The only quick fix a can think of would be to clean the area "really well" and put some gasket sealer around it.

Yeah I figured I would. . I guess its going to cost me some money for the gaskets. I think maybe a new pcv valve too while in there. Im new to the 4runner. There is so much garbage out there on the internet it seems impossible to sort through. My only other question is code 52. The knock sensor. that light comes on once in a while too. Is it affecting performance because i can tell a difference.? Im guessing that might be something I should tackle while the plenum is off?
Thanks a bunch

I'm new to the 4runner too.
Cant help you with that question. haven't got thet far in to mine "yet". lol
There was a post about that just a couple of days ago. dont know if there was any response.

Got any pics of yours?

when you have the plenum off replace the knock sensor. They're not cheap but seem to be problematic.Be sure and replace the intake gasket too

you can find parts really reasonable from rockauto.com i did the complete topend on mine and the kit was exceptionly reasonable !:wow:

How long would it take to do the valve cover gaskets? Aparently I have a leak there also. But the mechanic initially quoted me only 1 hour labour for the job. I thought the Knock Sensor was a pretty big job to replace.
