Van Halen's New Tour....Anyone?

Has anyone seen Van Halen on thier current tour?

Comments? I've heard Eddie VH is like loosing his fu***ng mind, but still plays killer.

The tour was supposed to come to ATL in Feb but was posponed until May because of Eddie's "medical" problems.

Is it a good show?? I never really embraced Sammy Hagar as the lead singer and thought it would be cool to hear VH with Dave.

I saw it here in Denver and it was a decent show but not really worth the $150 ticket price especially when they didn't have th decency to ask Mike Anthony along to complete the true reunion and have Eddie's son handle bass duties.

They cancelled here in Milw. then changed it and said it was back on .

What is Eddie doing that so nuts ?? I've not heard that one .

Them going on tour without Michael Anthony is totally BS !! so Wolfgang can do it .

My guess would be the tour will be short lived with Diamond Dave. Seems they always feud and shit shit hits the fan. Who know's I'm probably wrong on that one.

I've heard he's really just "off his rocker" and has really just lost his mind.
Apparently, that's one of the reasons Valerie Bertinelli left him. There's even a mention of his "illness" causing the problems with the tour right on the official VH website.

Who knows?? I don't think I'll be going to the show based on what I'm hearing.

I heard about the illness on tv. They didn't say what it was and a few weeks ago the wife was watching Oprah and Valerie was on there and they touched on the subject and she really down played it .

Being a drummer myself for a long time I always like to see the massive drum kits Alex has. I have a big enough kit that it all wont fit in my 4R , but his is massive and I'm sure sponsor paid .

Hey Falls,

Rush is touring this summer. Even if you are not too keen on their music, you should go to hear and see Neal Pert. Just an incredible drummer!! He has a drum solo in each show.

Be sure to take some ear plugs!! LOL!! I've seen Rush live 5 or six times and they are consistently the loudest show I've ever heard. Mixed very well, but loud as hell!

Saw Rush last year on the Rocks and will be going again as they are doing another Red Rocks show this year too.

I saw The Who ( front row) with The Clash in Seattle back in the 80's , first time I'd seen them and was wondering why big bags of cotton balls were being tossed around on the floor before the show . Nothing but ear ring for the next 7 or 8 days . The Who were LOUD . Great show !!!

and they are consistently the loudest show I've ever heard. Mixed very well, but loud as hell!

Van Halen


My g/f bought us two tickets for this Friday's Van Halen concert in Charlottesville , VA (May 2nd).

It was rescheduled from two months ago from when Eddie had his 'illness' and the show was postponed.

I've been a fan since I was in high school, and enjoyed listening to them with both Dave & Sammy on lead vocals.

"1984" and "Balance" are probably my favorite works of each lead singer.

We saw Van Halen last night up in Charlottesville. Wow! It really was a great show, and they played for two full hours without more than a minute's worth of a break.

It sure is funny to see Eddie with short hair (and Dave, too), but we must keep in mind that those chaps are well into their fifties. Alex still had longer hair, but showed his age more than the other guys. Nevertheless, he did a fantastic 7-minute drum solo that was enough to prove that he "still has what it takes" to keep everyone entertained. They're a talented bunch!

Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie's son, replaced Michael Anthony on the bass guitar & background vocals. This kid's future is secure; that's for sure. Sixteen years old and probably set for life! He did a great job as well, and showed that the apple did not fall far from the tree.

David Lee Roth looked older, of course, but still did his share of jumping around on stage. One of his high kicks, however, appeared to have caused him some discomfort and he winced a bit. Even so, he kept going 100% right up to the encore of "Jump" at the end of the show.

Great concert, guys! Way to go!

P.S. It was neat to see "20-somethings" and "50-somethings" in the crowd and everyone was enjoying the show equally. Undoubtedly a tribute to the mass appeal of this awesome band throughout the years.
